I liked the film. The story is kind lf forgettable, but it is a nice one-time watch.
The plot made no sense. Enough with DCUs drunk superheroes.

They same way supergirl overcame the villain's poison somehow could not work on her dog. The reason why the villain is doing things villainous wasn't even attempted. Jason Mamoa ...why, just why.

Mamoa was a good Lobo. I swear every comic book movie is either "there aren't enough characters" or "there are too many characters".
Movie was fine, solid superhero movie and all criticism you have about it are the same criticisms about any Superman storyline from the last 30 years.
Seems like it didn't break even, this publication in Deadline claims it's budget was around USD$180M. I haven't watched it yet but saw some videos saying its writing was very bad.
In general a film needs to make about 2 to 2.5 times its budget to be considered financially successful. Theaters take a cut of the reported box office numbers and marketing is a separate cost that has to be calculated. It's not an exact science, but Supergirl definitely underperformed.
In terms of critical reception I wouldn't say the writing is very bad, it's more frustrating how close it gets to almost being good. There is plenty of the film that's enjoyable, but then it just falls apart or shifts and you're left consfused, why is that what happened next? It's probably a 6/10 film, watchable, has some fun scenes, but ultimately forgettable.
I tried watching it. It's a movie where Supergirl doesn't have powers, and she's a drunk. Not exactly exciting stuff.

Expecting anyone to watch this entire film is a reach. But, no, you're right, the movie was so good no one watched it, and it didn't get massively outperformed by a Youtuber with no budget.
