This is one of my favorite "so bad it's good" movies. It's hilarious.
The cat's voice that sounds like the voice actor recorded with a phone in a bathroom, the terrible effects, the son who's supposed to be flirting with his female crush but the actor is obviously gay... it's all great.
That phoned-in actor is Eric Roberts, less than five years after The Dark Knight.
He says he has no regrets taking so many roles, but part of me can’t help but think he was one of those actors who took Ned Beatty’s advice to never turn down work, which was fine in the 70s, but is not as true in the 2000s and beyond, when anyone can grab a camera, After Effects, and make… this.
It does look very riffable and I think I’ve seen a couple vids making fun of it, but for me that reveal of the mouth animation is the most hilarious thing ever.

David Decoteau takes a break from Puppet Master movies and exploitation sex romps to finally make the family film that no one asked for 😃
Oh my god he’s from Portland. How the fuck is his IMDb page so goddamn long?
