Does it involve bring romantically or physically attracted to someone of the same gender? No? Then it isn't gay.
Throwing shit on the court is stupid and disrespectful, but it is also stupid and disrespectful to use gay to describe something you dislike.
Let’s do better. A coworker of mine recently said “Ugh, we still have to go to that gay ass meeting this morning?” To another coworker, like 4 feet away from me. I shut that shit down real quick. His response? “My sister is a lesbian, my best friend is gay, and he hits on me all the time”. You see, knowing gays makes it ok to disparage us. I had to explain to him that in order for him to call himself an ally, he not only needs to refrain from such statements, but also much challenge those around him that say such things.
Pretty sure he didn’t get it, and will continue to say garbage like that, because he has a gay friend. He also says racist shit, which is ok, because he has black friends as well.
