I feel like if you were going to eat jewellery, you probably aren't making it very far anyway. It's only a matter of time before you taste toilet cleaner or something.
From the image it looks like they're in resin. I agree that people should be careful with jewelry around small children, but it doesn't look like these are the type that will open and spill out their contents, regardless of it the contents are poisonous or not. I feel like there would be bigger concerns if the baby bit a chunk of resin off. Maybe I'm mistaken though since I'm just going off the pic provided.
Can we be sure if anyone actually ate them? Articles were written, sure, but IIRC there were a ton of people posting about it sarcastically and that got reported as true
Pretty sure a few people actually did have to go to the hospital over it. I think mostly by accident while trying (and failing) to not pierce them and ingest detergent.

Real talk though… a baby in a person’s arm will totally put a locket or chain the person is wearing into its mouth.
and that's a greater hazard than the materials inside the locket, so kind of a moot point

The dihydrogen monoxide lobby wants you drinking 8 glasses worth per day.
There isn’t a person alive who can drink water and not die.
You can't be sure of that! But every single person who has died has been found to have consumed water.

It’s like when we had to remind people that eating Tide pods is a bad idea.

The initial articles were about dementia patients mistaking them for candy, which is a thing that happened.
