My accommodation needs when travelling are:

  1. Quiet.
  2. Comfortable bed.

The rest doesn't matter much. I'm using it as a sleeping hole, not a home.

Very. I need to have a nice hotel with a clean and comfortable bed that I can retreat to. I'm autistic so I need a safe and comfortable space where I can recharge after an overwhelming and overstimulating day. A hotel isn't home, and it's no replacement for the familiarity of my own bed, but having the best possible room to myself where I can be comfortable to do my calming rituals is extremely important to make sure I don't crash out in the middle of my own vacation.

Depends on the type of vacation: if I’m going somewhere new to see the sights/experience the place I’m perfectly happy with something budget friendly: I want a private room/bathroom but don’t need much else. When I was younger I could do hostels with shared accommodations but I’m over that now.

Sometimes, though, my purpose is to just relax at the beach/pool, in which case I have paid some obscene amounts for a nice place…

Very. I'm autistic and ambiance can make or break my day. Especially shitty lighting.

It's fairly important to me. I won't go 5 star but I get a nice Airbnb in a decent location. I can't sleep somewhere I feel unsafe and that isn't clean and comfortable. I'm not 20 anymore and wanna be out all the time, I'm middle aged and I want to relax in a home environment. I'm also a big believer in do wtf you want when on holiday so if I want to stay in, relax and watch telly then I will.

My idea of quality is two good trees and my camping hammock.

Or a good leakproof tent and a super-comfy sleeping bag. Finding a nearby campsite while on vacation instead of a hotel for at least some of the days is so much fun, not to mention cost-saving.

This is why my thermarest is one of my most prized possessions.
