I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I can never really get on board with matt damon being cast in historical roles. I felt the same way about seeing him in the last duel, he just snapped me out of any sense of immersion. I don't know what it is, he just has the face of a man who has seen an iPhone.
My wife has the same issue with him. She says that she can’t see the character, she just sees Matt Damon. Although now he’s getting older that effect is less than it used to be, like in Oppenheimer or the Odyssey (so she tells me).

What about Dogma? He was just a simple Angel, trying to get home.

Except that the comment you replied to was the first one.
