I really don’t understand how those three clues end up to martins status. That’s how I picked the other two wrong. I must be missing something.

I also don't understand that one.
::: spoiler my best guess is... Since there's only 4 innocents on the edges, it's unlikely that Martin would be innocent... But that still feels like guesswork and usually that's not how this game works! :::

Hal's clue tells us that there are 10 criminals on the edges, so we know that there are 4 innocents on the edges. There are already 2 innocents on the edges (John and Isaac), and Isaac's clue tells us that there must be at least one more innocent on the edges neighboring Quita (amongst Olivia, Vince, and Wanda) in order to give her 3 innocent neighbors. That means that there can be, at most, one other innocent on the edges. Let's assume that the one other innocent is Martin. Kay's clue tells us that only row 2 has exactly 3 innocents, so if Martin is innocent, Larry must be a criminal to satisfy the conditions of Kay's clue. This means that two of Quita's remaining neighbors on the edges must be innocent in order give her 3 innocent neighbors and satisfy Isaac's clue. This gives us 5 innocents and 9 criminals on the edges, which contradicts Hal's clue, so therefore Martin must be a criminal.
