They did a legit scientific study about this. The study showed that fries taken from other people actually genuinely taste better to the person eating the fry than if they had their own personal fries. Specifically they found that “high risk covert taking” of french fries led to the tastiest experience for the french fry eater, followed by eating fries of someone elses that you ask them for, and then lastly by having your own.

Im not sure I like what life lesson about general senses of ethics this implies, but yeah. Steal a stranger’s french fries and they will be the tastiest fries you have ever had

“High risk covert taking“ from your girlfriend isn’t very high risk. Fries stolen from someone else’s girlfriend taste way better.

It’s no different with my four-year-old. I automatically order twice the amount of fries I think I want to eat.
