found an addon to get old.reddit-ish experience
it seems to be mostly LLM generated/vibeshit, but it kinda works. pretty buggy though. it fetches reddit's json api and renders it onto layout based on old.reddit's one.
the addon on addons.mozilla.org says it requires firefox 143, but after changing minimum version requirement on manifest.json it seems to work just fine on firefox 140.13.0 esr. also, the README says it needs a logged-in session, but it works for me without logging in.

I made a lemmy account because old.reddit is gone. It's the end for that website, for me at least
