Ooh beautiful! I started needlefelting randomly coloured balls, but these are extra neat!
You can make lots of cool things with coloured balls. I've made rainbow strings of them for earrings.

Lovely! Are the veins felted, too, or stitched? I think this is how I'm spending my Saturday.
I felt them in, I find it easier to get the veiny look with twisted bits of wool rather than embroidery. But you can get some cool textures mixing embroidery and felting.
