Her Private Hell - Still not entirely sure what to make of it. It was 50% people smoking cigarettes and making Magnum and Blue Steele Zoolander faces, and 50% weirdness. Still trying to figure out what the 'lesson' at the end was. In order to defeat the daddy, you must become the daddy?
Between this and The Neon Demon, I can't help but feel like this director is one of the Hollywood creeps that he portrays. The way he depicted a young Elle Fanning in The Neon Demon basically makes him guilty of it too. And Her Private Hell had big Sucker Punch vibes.
Either way, masterpiece or pompous artsy fartsy bullshit, one thing this director is good at, is leaving you with something to think about for days.
Also watched Companion because now I'm checking out all of Sophie Thatcher's stuff. She seems like a Chloe Moretz type in that if you see she's in a movie, it's going to be an interesting movie at the very least. Companion was really good.
Also finally watched I Saw the TV Glow and I think my essay on that one is still brewing inside of me.
