Nice job Microsoft, you basically had a Monopoly and you're pissing it away.
Thats what monopolies all do eventually
It's probably fine for them. My guess is that they went this way because it wasn't profitable enough anymore, so they started the enshittification process. Windows has become a smaller slice of the pie so these things won't matter much. They're probably mostly focused on AI and Azure.
