Severe storms, including two confirmed tornadoes, caused widespread damage across parts of Germany overnight, leaving at least one person dead and others injured, with dozens of buildings damaged, authorities said on Thursday.

More severe storms could be on the way, particularly in the southern states of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, the German Weather Service (DWD) warned.
