Essential EndeavourOS Apps - 2026
The following is a list of applications I use on EndeavourOS that I've found incredibly useful.
ProtonUp-Qt: This app allows you to install and manage versions of Proton and Proton GloriousEggroll. Essential for gaming.
Cider: A paid app, but worth the 3 bucks. Allows you to use Apple Music on linux. If you're mobile device is an iPhone, this is pretty great to have.
Prism Launcher: The essential Minecraft launcher.
Krita: IMO, the best app for quickly cropping and exporting screenshots.
Faugus: A great game launcher for Blizzard.
Vesktop: An alternative to the default Discord client. Vesktop does a great job of solving traditional issues with screensharing on linux, etc.

I disagree on gaming. A simple "Pacman -S Steam" will do for most. But if for some reason you want to avoid Valve software, sure, go x it.
Obsidian : Great app to take and manage notes.
Kats: great app for podcasts
Kdenlive (as flatpack): Great for edit video.
Inkscape: A great vectorial image editor like Illustrator.
Gapless: Music player
Hypnotix: Web TV channels
Shortwave: Web radio
Defuse: Great small app to quickly remove images background.
Upscaly: enhance images and photo
Foliate/Calibre: x ebooks
Libre wolf/waterfox: Lighter forks of firefox browser with better privacy setting.
As for which source to use:
Check first: pacman -S
Second: Flatpack install
And only as last resort arch: Yay -S
On arch, search the -bin version of the app (precompiled), and PLEASE CHECK THE SOURCE AND THE REVIEW FIRST.
I use Gimp for cropping but I’ll give Krita a try :)
I think Krita is more natural if you come from an Adobe interface background, but YMMV
Krita controls are quite confusing if you're coming from Photoshop. Also, the editing functions are half tossed around. Gimp at least feels familiar, and you can also set the same Photoshop shortcuts in the setting.
