The Addams Family (1964) Rewatch

Starting on September 16th i will be doing a rewatch of The Addams Family (1964) series and discussing the episodes here. This coincides with my weekly posting of the original Addams Family strips, and the original airing of the series. The first episode aired 18 September 1964.

Weekly I post the original strips in ![email protected] and ![email protected] usually there is a little history added, but not always. And if we are lucky, there are some great discussions.

Always a good watch. I keep the 64 episodes along with the 1975 Halloween special on my jelly fin server for regular rewatches. 😃

Was that the uncle fester who was an activist for child labor rights in Hollywood and how made studios guarantee child stars would still get an education? I believe he was very kind to the kids on set because he had been a child star.

Good guy.

He also flew Glider Missions in WW2, and married Betty Grable.

Yes, his name is Jackie Coogan. I really would have loved to have met him. I have always loved his portrayal of Uncle Fester.

He sued his mother and stepfather over his squandered film earnings and inspired California to enact the first known legal protection for the earnings of child performers, the California Child Actor's Bill, widely known as the "Coogan Act".
