Apparently they have announced this but Vieira hasn’t actually signed a contract yet.
It's hard to tell if Vieira is a good manager or not. He seems to have some really good periods followed by really bad ones.
A lot of his periods as a manager seem to end when the team he's managing has "X games without a win".
For Crystal Palace he went 12 games without a win. At Strasbourg he had a run of 8 games without a win. With Genoa he took a team right near the relegation zone and got them into 13th in Serie A, but when he left the team was once again at the bottom of Serie A.
On the other hand, his Crystal Palace team managed to holds its own against Manchester City and against Arsenal.
I wonder if international management will be easier for him. If what happens is that he eventually loses the dressing room, maybe that isn't as likely to happen when the players keep going back to their clubs after international breaks.
