PieFed web UI hickups on Firefox (based) browsers?
First of all, I'm on piefed.zip which uses PieFed v1.8.0-dev - apparently a sort of beta?
I have, over time, noticed small UI hickups mostly related to tooltips misbehaving: not showing up when hovering, or getting stuck at the top/bottom of the viewport.
I have noticed that Chromium seems to do better here.
Since many fediverse users use Firefox et al. for privacy reasons I think maybe we should discuss this, compare notes.
I'm using Librewolf 153.0.3-1 btw. with uBlock origin
Then there's also this which does not happen on Chromium: Some user apparently chose to use a serif font for their personal style, which results in my comment being completely serif as well, as well as other comments surroundings. See if you can reproduce it.

I use a mixture of Waterfox and Firefox. I agree that Firefox-based browser are the priority.
The tooltips are pretty janky, yeah. Always have been. I've been just living with it because I'm painfully aware of much worse bugs and my todo list grows faster than I can cross things off.
It's good to bring things up here first, to check if it's a real/worthy bug, but unless someone adds this to the codeberg issue tracker it'll be forgotten about during tomorrow's shitstorm, and the storm the day after and so on.
I'll add a note to the community sidebar about this.
So you agree it could be worth a codeberg issue.
I haven't been able to reproduce some of the issues I refer to for a while, except the up/downvote tooltips: They sometimes refuse to show up, and sometimes remain unthemed. Maybe the last update fixed something.

Librewolf font settings are the most straightforward possible.
I'll see how to formulate this as a proper issue.
I cant remember ever having issues on normal Firefox on my Desktop.
But now that you say it i also have similar hickups with the tooltips on Ironfox on Android.
So maybe this is a hardened Firefox issue?

Try disabling the anti-fingerprinting on the site. I find librewolf fucks with a lot of stuff with that on because basically every modern feature can be used to fingerprint you.
That being said, I have not noticed librewolf fucking with my instance of piefed, but it's a good place to start to diagnose the issue
Also from Piefed.zip, also from Gecko browser (in my case, Waterfox) and also a uBlock Origin user, but no issues on my end.
I would guess that's related to LibreWolf's aggressive privacy settings. Maybe try to add an exception for Piefed or disabling Resist Fingerprinting to check if it fixes the issue.

I use regular Firefox. I haven't seen any issues. Are you using any extensions that might be interfering? Try opening the browser in debug mode and see if the issues disappear.
