Book 6 of DCC is shorter, but is about 12mm thicker. 70 page difference.

The pages feel thinner and you can see the text on the other side more as well. Book 6 is a 10th printing and book 7 is a 5th printing. Doesn’t say years, so I wonder if they switched to thinner or back to thicker?

Take a look at book 7 of DCC. That's bone. And the lettering is something called Silian Rail. Impressive. Very nice. Let's see book 6. Look at that subtle off-white coloring; the tasteful thickness of it… Oh my God, it even has a watermark.

NEW ACHIEVEMENT You’ve erotically described a book like I’ve described Carl’s feet. - REWARD - perverts don’t get rewards, ask me how I know!

I basically never go into book stores, so I didn't see any of the DCC books until last weekend. They didn't feel that big when I was reading them on my e-reader.

When you’re used to 300-400 page books, it’s noticeable, but such easy reading it does go pretty fast.

Could be that book 7 had to be printed on lighter-weight stock if the page count would have exceeded the capacity for the hard-cover binding. (They may not have anticipated that a later book would get that big when they chose the stock at the start of the series.)

Interesting, and this could make sense. I checked book 8, it’s about the same thickness as 7, but 200 pages shorter. So it’s the thicker pages again, first edition, dunno if they’ve done a second yet as it’s new.

I did notice some of the middle books had a shocking amount of ink smudging and that multiple times while reading Parade of Horribles I found myself thinking I must have two pages stuck together because the pages were thicker than the other books

I hadn’t noticed anything like that, but I did look at my book 8 which is 200 pages shorter than 7 and it’s the same thickness, so that has the thicker pages like 6.
