One thing they got wrong at the end, I think. Was it worth it? Probably, yeah. The stability and security benefits of typed languages are too strong to ignore for the niche that PHP fills. So, I would argue, it was modernize or be gradually replaced by something totally different.

@exakat Overall a decent article, but it grossly misunderstands the disagreements around strict_types.
