Yup, the term is "screeners" and it started in the film industry ages ago and in more recent years we've seen it for TV shows.
Sometimes it's just the first episode, sometimes it's just part of the season, and sometimes it's the whole season.
Usually for professional reviewers to review and build hype. Like in this case declaring the series "Fresh" might get more people to watch it.
