TL;DR: house is built against an embankment, there's a road on top of the embankment, car left that road and drove off the embankment into the roof. literally a straightforward explanation.

Neighbours in Sittingbourne, Kent were woken by the sound of ‘two booms’ on Monday night as the Audi left the road, went through bushes and flew several feet through the air before smashing into the top floor of a terraced house down an embankment.

I mean, when I was a kid I asked my mom why the laws of physics were as they are and what enforces them.

Still haven't received a satisfactory answer.

A car once went straight through my grandparents house. Drunk driver going way too quick, didn't make a 90° bend, hit the kerb, through their garden wall, up through the living room window, through the length of the living room and out through the patio doors into the garden.

My grandad slept through the entire thing.

There’s some pretty great roundabout launch videos online. Usually a hot hatch.

All I could think about when I read that was the Lee Mack story he told on the Graham Norton Show.

Does the article even mention how many stories the house is? Surely one can surmise that it has at least two stories, and it's probably pretty rare for a house to have more than two (above ground) stories. So probably it's two. But you'd still think the article would be explicit about that.
