My Battlestation of Spices (Updated Version)
Row 1: Aleppo Pepper, Allspice, Basil, Bay Leaves, Cayenne, Celery Salt, Celery Seeds, Cinnamon, Chinese Five Spice, Chili Powder, Chives, Cloves, Cream of Tartar
Row 2: Cumin, Dill Weed, Flax Seed, Garlic Powder, Ginger, Italian Seasoning, Mint, Montreal Steak, Mustard Powder, Nutmeg, Onion Powder, Oregano, Paprika
Row 3: Parsley, Pepper, White Pepper, Red Pepper Flakes, Rosemary, Sea Salt, Seasoned Salt, Sesame Seeds, Sugar, Taco Seasoning, Thyme, Turmeric
The seasoned salt and taco seasoning are the only things in the drawer that I make from scratch, by other seasonings and spices posted here.
I am posting an updated picture because my first post got so many likes, and when I told my husband, he helped me make it look nicer by taking labels off the jars of spices I wasn't using and transferring spices I actually use in them with their according labels. I hope you all enjoy this one as much as my first one! ๐๐คโค๏ธ ๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป

You're running low on mustard and cinnamon.
I mustard you wrong. That was anise gesture. Don't be mad when bay leaves.
OK. This is the fennel straw.
listen here u little shit
It's been a year since my last spice cabinet cleanup. I should get on that.
On my previous post that I made before the cleanup, in the comments I posted links from Amazon where I bought the jars and clear spice racks that fit in drawers. They are sold separately, but affordable and makes your kitchen look fancy. ๐
I have a surplus of jars and once you see the spice rack I built you are going to have questions. It's gigantic.
Spice rack reveal. Let's goooo.
Awesome!
Only thing I'd say is that while I'm not a huge lover of pepper, it is nice and basic - I got two cheap eletric grinders and I keep black peppercorns in one and white in another - and I can't go back. I'm spoiled. :)
Chile powder and curry powder are also worth it to make from scratch if you have the time. Both are miles better than pre-mixed/store bought, and you have much more control over the flavors you want. Fresh curry powder really is a magic ingredient if you cook anything South or Southeast Asian.
Definitely. I make chili powder in huge batches of a liter or two at a time. So much less expensive. Better quality, no salt, no filler.
For curry I usually make a cup's worth at a time.
Good to know, I will have to try that. ๐๐ป
