Even the article says the cops originally intended to provide escort to the first lady, but later policy got in the way, and that policy is respected as any good admin ought to. Nothingburger.
I would think that, unless it was a diplomatic mission of some sort, which I don’t think this is there shouldn’t be any reason why taxpayer dollars should go towards security on some sort of personal trip
