Confusing interface

Hi, I am new to lemmy.zip. I find the interface a little confusing. Why, by default, do i first have to click on a post, then only see all the comments, then click on the post again, to see the actual post? Is there a setting to click on a post and immediately see the actual post, maybe with all the comments already? Am i missing something? And what are all the community subscription blocks on the right good for? This is very different to other social media interfaces I have used…

Hi there, scribas, with the default web ui, if you're seeing comments after clicking to the post page, you should just be able to use your mousewheel to scroll up to the post content. If it's behaving differently than that, could we get a screenshot of what your page looks like with those two clicks you're describing?

Lemmy is a relatively new platform and lacks many of the customization features you've come to expect but is under active development so things improve at a relatively quick pace. If it bothers you enough and you don't want to wait, one option to try is moving to a Piefed instance, as it is generally a bit more refined in it's features and user interface.

Thank you so much. I think it is mostly that a lot of people just link an article, without creating an actual post. I am slowly figuring out how to use it. Currently also trying to log into Lemoa on my Fedora machine. Let's see whether that works.
