Try booting the phone in safe mode, when there disable or uninstall heliboard. After a reboot you should get the default keyboard

I am not sure if grapheneOS has safe mode, but that would work in any other android vendor.

That works, ty, I will just keep 2 keyboards from now on. It happened cuz I updated the app, I will just downgrade it too.

Yea, generally Android warns you about changing keyboards as preventing unlocking.

This is because any keyboard a user installs is a user app, and not started until after a user logs in.

Never disable the built-in keyboard (as you just found out).

Happy to hear the work-around got you in, good reminder for the rest of us.

caps don't appear anyways. I don't think I can connect stuff before unlocking the phone too cuz like it works through the usb-c port in my laptop.

Same with Lineage, so seems to be an issue with HeliBoard itself.

I 'fixed' it by hard rebooting, switching keyboards multiple times, and randomly it fixed itself.

nah didn't work, tried it on my laptop through the usb-c port with the adapter to make sure it works too. I don't think I can connect stuff before unlocking it.
