Did Nintendo nuke their Splatoon 3 servers?

Ever since Raiders came out, I've noticed that over half the games I play on Splat 3 have people dropping like flies. And when everyone stays connected, it seems impossible to get a good game due to lag.

I don't think these problems are on my end, it's usually other people dropping and my Internet is generally pretty ok

Splatoon 3 is peer-to-peer. Servers only handle matchmaking.

It's possible Raiders brought in an influx of casual players with worse connections than the average regular?

What's worse is you pay for the privilege to not have dedicated servers. Highway robbery.

In that case, it would probably be "easy" (I mean, in a relative sense) to create a FOSS third-party server.

Using it would probably require rooting the Switch.

Plus if the players not having nat a or b, then the traffic have to go through reley server to compensate this, which adding more failure points
