I was once approached by random group of highschool girls when I got out of my truck, one sheepishly asked me if I had a tape measure they could borrow.
I pulled out 3, asked if they needed a metric one, and then two of them started giggling. Apparently the two insisted I would have one because I drove a truck "that looks like it gets used" (dents, rust, and a busted front end from the previous owner) so surely I must have a tape measure and toolbox.
I guess they needed to measure their car to make sure a TV would fit, but I felt simultaneously helpful, and slightly judged lmao
Nothing wrong with that. Most pickup trucks are man-jewelry for wannabe rural-sexuals, and these girls recognized a real man's truck. You probably had them swooning from your heady blend of testosterone and pheromones. They're just teenagers, they can't handle a vintage that potent.

You were judged, and found worthy. By random teenaged girls no less. Do you know how rare that is? Stand tall.
There is no higher praise.

More like "you look like a woman who has her shit together and a purse".
I’m a teacher at a university and of non university affiliated adults, for context, I’m not just super approachable.
EDC things I’ve been asked for: hair bands, chalk, safety pins, cutlery, snacks, pain killers, matches, bandages, disinfectant, sun screen, water.
EDC things I’ve never been asked for but have used: emergency poncho, glue, plastic bags
EDC things I’ve never been asked for and never used: batteries. Maybe I should get rid of the batteries
Batteries are heavy, and most things are rechargable these days. Cut yourself a break.
carry a small battery bank (something the size of a phone gets you like 3 full phone charges anyways) and 2 USB-C cables (one C-to-C, one C-to-A).
Thank you for your service, Ms. Liv. 🫡
Ain't nothing wholesome about an x.com post. Disgusting.
