EU lifts ban on Russian sable fur imports after Italy, Greece push
European Union member states removed a ban on imports of raw, unprocessed Russian sable fur, incorporating the change into a new sanctions package against Russia agreed on July 23, according to Euractiv.

It's definitely because many non-disgustingly-rich EU citizens are clamoring for it.
Why do you need FUR in GREECE and ITALY of all the countries in the EU? 🙄
They're famously mountainous countries. Not that I agree with using animal fur for warmth, but it's not like you can't be cold in Italy.
Also, in Greece, there is a giant pubic wig factory that needs them.

I hate to say it, but sable hair makes some of the best paintbrushes... The structure of the hair is impossible to replicate synthetically.
