Ahhh pre-spring in Melbourne. My old place had a blackbird pair that nested right outside my bedroom and every year about this time would be their little songs at 4am
I've been baby stepping one of our clients through our new AML process, and thought I'd got them through with all boxes ticked etc. after far too much telephone time. Today received an email from them that finished "Thank you for your time tomorrow". Alas, I fear that will be all too true. Pray for me.
I asked Boyo what he would be his last meal if he could choose. He dove into that his choice would be changed by what kind of death he was facing, and why, what kind of emotions he might like to have during that meal or what he might like to avoid. There was a lot of thought put into it with different options for the different scenarios.
My response: โLobster mac and cheese. No question."
Go down the block to see if the pump was working as the hose wasn't turning on. Turn pump off and on.. whirring noise and clunk!
Go back into the house to find a whole bunch of power sockets don't work.. checks fuse box... all good... hrmmm.
Thankfully have a whole bunch of long extension cords. Disaster averted. Back freezer was one of sockets that didn't work. yikes.
Story time. when I was a kid ol' boy thought it be a good way to save $ and turn the mains off when he left in the middle of summer. 2 weeks later when we got back down here...I still remember the smell. Had a black lab at the time who decided to roll around in the stuff we pulled out onto the lawn when we weren't looking. Had a lovely time.
Edit: FIXED! had to physically remove the pump from the outlet fiddle with the safety switch in the fuse box. Hooray.
Ahhh, VLC has come through again. I turned an old phone into an mp3 player and I was looking for a local music player. VLC was the first thing I came across and I thought it would do for the moment, but it's so goddamned good I might just keep using it.
The only potential issue is it may not remember your play queue after closing. But it never did that, and that's fine if you want more deliberate listening sessions
I suspect that this won't be super thrilling in a strategy play sense, but who cares, it's cute. I had no idea single spot ultra mini figs existed. Go tiny things!
The current issue Heli has standard minis, but an earlier one might have. I'm discovering loads of things made when I was too broke to contemplate looking. Catching up is fun
I managed to trigger my bank's fraud detection last night by transferring some money to myself. Apparently not having a description/reference can be a red flag, so from now on I'll be putting in reference notes for the benefit of the fraud dept. ๐
also, how many pages are printer cartridges meant to do, because I think mine ran out after about 50, that doesn't seem much. TIL the term is "page yield"
I got a little laser printer about 5 years ago when I had a need to do more printing. Brilliant. Quicker, toner lasts for ages, print quality is nicer. I donโt have much need for it these days but Iโm never going back to inkjet.
Varies dramatically based on the type and size of cartridge. I have a laser printer with massive toner cartidges that I've changed once in 20 years. Many thousands of pages for it. But I've had inkjets that seemed to run out every 5 seconds.
yeah, these cheap little multi use printers sure do eat up the ink. They are pitas. I like the idea of a bigger higher quality printer, especially if I am going to use it a lot.
Why does the thought of soup for lunch always feel so unappealing, but then you have it and it's delicious and you wonder why you don't have it more often?
Me too. After making so many for ol' girl over the last few years I'm skipping right past it if I'm ever out at a restaurant. Shame really because some of the ones I've when out years ago have been amazing. If the soup has solids that's okay but if just pureed no can do :(
I was never given soup when I was sick, so it can't be that. Sick food was always dry crackers and flat lemonade.
Pumpkin soup is often pretty yucky. I don't mind it with a reasonable amount of curry in it, or the one I had today had a lot of chicken stock to give it flavour. Pumpkin on it's own is just boring mush that is often a bit too sweet. It also had a fair few other vegetables in it, so it wasn't just watered down pumpkin puree like a lot seem to be.
i've got some cheese & herb scrolls I made to go with it. I think they need to be a bit cheesier though, and the next batch I might add some bacon too. If I don't have something like that cheese on toast is my preference for vegetable soups.
I've got that funny thing going on at work where the team have just discovered something I've known about for years and are obsessed with it. They learned what UTM codes are for link tracking and want to use them for everything. Yeah, you can use them, but you need to actively track their performance. And a lot of programs just build them into things these days
Salted Caramel Twix Review: The OG is better. Still, it's perfectly acceptable and wouldn't resist to buy it again, but it looked like it had been snatched up my local, not sure if it's having a viral moment (god I hate that) or just something behind the scenes.
Speaking of viral moments, if anyone is into pork knuckles, word at work is that the Woolies boxed version is way better than it deserves to be.

Thereโs a magpie singing. Does it not have a clock? Itโs 4:30am. Whyyyyy.

Today feels like a lot
I agree. Yiiikes.

Board games night will have almost 30 people (if everyone who RSVPed shows up)! Keen

Weird voodoo electron issues.

Oh my god that story. That would be traumatising for sure!
Poor doggo was a sleep inside doggo, but for about a month she was an outside doggo. Endless amounts of baths (which she hated) lol.
I really donโt want to get up

Can definitely see that Spring is on the way. ๐

I think the SHIELD Helicarrier used those ultra-minifigs to help with the sense of scale. I think I remember those lego boardgames from years ago too

Rain. We need rain.
Ahem - we're getting rain, a lot of rain here in Richmond.
just a sprinkle here

Goodnight all :)
I'm excited and nervous to meet my cousin. I'm happy to help out even if we weren't related.

Job interview tomorrow. Only a few hours a week but should be cool. Have to teach a maths problem that I am still figuring out how to explain.
Good luck!
I think Gibson knows something is up lol
Operation unKAOS Everything is going well.

Why does the thought of soup for lunch always feel so unappealing, but then you have it and it's delicious and you wonder why you don't have it more often?
I think I subconsciously associate soup with bad things - like being sick, poor, etc, when in reality it really is so delicious.
Still never met a pumpkin soup I like though.
Me too. After making so many for ol' girl over the last few years I'm skipping right past it if I'm ever out at a restaurant. Shame really because some of the ones I've when out years ago have been amazing. If the soup has solids that's okay but if just pureed no can do :(

My guts wants to chew something so unless it comes with a crusty bread roll it's just flavoured water to me.
i've got some cheese & herb scrolls I made to go with it. I think they need to be a bit cheesier though, and the next batch I might add some bacon too. If I don't have something like that cheese on toast is my preference for vegetable soups.
It's so cheap and so good for winter.

"Dildo fish hunt 'Prime Ministers"
That will be more panadol and fluids required...
I'm trying to work out if this is code for something.
A what three words address? There is a 'disco fish hunt' and a 'dodo fish hunt', maybe it's the Prime Minister's next holiday plan.
Oooh, good theory!
