I thought it was great - each layer is distinct in flavor, but they go well when eaten together!

It wasn't so much the kind of cake as it was the presentation that made it the weirdest.

I was trying to cut some weight at the time and so I asked for a carrot cake that was in the shape of a go-to, relatively healthy meal at the time: a salmon fillet, rice, and broccoli. I'll see if I got a picture of that one.
