60,000 evacuated due to Spokane Complex Fire; Mayor calls it region’s ‘worst natural disaster’

60,000 people have been evacuated due to the Spokane Complex Fire, which has destroyed hundreds of homes in what Mayor Lisa Brown calls the region’s worst natural disaster.

As of Sunday, the Spokane fires had burned more than 5,300 acres. Statewide, more than 250,000 acres have burned.
