I think that's certainly a valid interpretation.

A main point of the movie is that you can be drowning in facts and data, yet be no closer to figuring out what is true. Everything adds up to a half dozen equally plausible hypotheticals.

It's a good film for the way it makes people change their minds in different ways as events continue to unfold.

Yeah, I loved it. Especially for a view into a marriage. I think most marriages have aspects that would make one party look guilty of murder if you look close enough and there isn't an alibi.
