My neighbor is a baker. Not like how everyone somehow became a "baker" during COVID or whatever, but rather he owns and operates a commercial bakery.
Naturally as a result of this we wind up with prodigious amounts of bread. Due to some ham-fistedness on my part I wound up tearing this slice in half, which isn't much good when you're about to make a sandwich out of it. So I tossed it out the kitchen window and it seems like it was met with approval by the local critics. Our nestling house finches were all over it in seconds.
It certainly didn't take them long to devour the entire thing.

Wait, is bread actually not bad for birds?
It's probably not a great idea to make it their exclusive diet, but who knows how many billions of seagulls hork down entire sandwiches they've nicked off of people, and yet the world is still full of perfectly healthy seagulls.
Anyway, it was only one slice.
it's kind of like junk food for them. it only becomes an issue if they're constantly eating it, from what I understand.
