What is this and what is the purpose? Is there anything that happens when your attitude goes too low, and what affects it?

People with a really bad attitude (always downvoting more than upvoting) lose their ability to downvote. Not straight away, after a couple of days. So someone can have a bad day but not every day. Once they upvote enough they get the downvote ability back.
It automatically defangs serial downvoters, basically. The vast majority of people upvote at least 5x more than they downvote so this very rarely has an effect.
Also in the admin area the user list can be sorted by attitude to find all the serial downvoters. What admins do next is up to them. I doubt most ever check this.
What's the "really bad" threshold?
More downvotes than upvotes. -100% is always downvoting, 100% is always upvoting, 0% is in the middle and that's the threshold.
Most people sit around 70%.
I just had a bit of a dig around, looking at the worst attitudes. There was one guy who did 1800 downvotes (and no upvotes) and wasn't blocked because it was all on the same day (this must have been before the vote quota was added). So the system is pretty loose.

So, does the count reset? I just checked my piefed.ca account and my attitude is 100% because I'm a living saint, apparently. Am I banking cumulative upvotes if I continue to upvote?
I think it only looks at recent votes, like the last 30 days or something like that.

For Community moderators etc. It can help make problems more clear. There's actually two parts to this. One that's publicly visible which is the attitude and another more private one for Community moderators and administrators I believe? I'm not 100% on which one is which at the moment but one tracks how the community votes in relation to you. And the other records how you vote in general. Neither one I think has an automated effect right now. But it can help bring to white people who are just there to troll, or the mass down voters.
It's kind of annoying to people who are trying to have a conversation here. Also makes the voting system useless if people just do random things, like hate the platform but stay nonetheless, and then they just spend their days being negative about everything. It's not really healthy IMO nor useful. Or have bots mass up- or downvote stuff to push someone's agenda. Or be a human but a shitlord. A lot if users don't like it that way. Doesn't necessarily mean we need to always swing the ban hammer or block people... But I think it's often useful to tell. I sometimes use it to react differently to different kinds of people. For example if someone is just being super negative and annoying all the time and I'm not in the mood to put up with someone like that today, I'll just get out of their way and scroll past it. Makes me more happy.
I think moderators use it as well. And I'm not even sure if there isn't any effect. There might be? And even if it's not in the platform, there are external moderating tools as well, which some other instances and communities use?! They might be doing the same (and more elaborate) statistics to handle trolls, bots, AI bots and so on.
The rankings themselves don't have a direct impact. At least not yet that I'm aware of. They are there for moderators and administrators and even users to use and judge the people they're interacting with. They are just tools.
Mass down voting or vote manipulation Etc can have a huge impact and strongly shape a discussion. And these are just tools to highlight it. It's up to moderators and administrators to act on it.
