Last thread here

Welcome to this week’s casual kōrero thread!

This post will be pinned in this community so you can always find it, and will stay for about a week until replaced by the next one.

It’s for talking about anything that might not justify a full post. For example:

  • Something interesting that happened to you
  • Something humourous that happened to you
  • Something frustrating that happened to you
  • A quick question
  • A request for recommendations
  • Pictures of your pet
  • A picture of a cloud that kind of looks like an elephant
  • Anything else, there are no rules (except the rule)

So how’s it going?

I hope that "meh" is not describing the holiday?!

I haven't been up around the East Cape before. Any highlights?

No, it was the being back home

There were some wonderful beaches, a bit of a shame most of the freedom camping spots were closed for the off season, which meant much fewer choices of where to park up

Oh interesting they close the spots, that is a shame. It sounds like you enjoyed it though!

Wow, that seems like a dicey period to have been on a road trip - we had some shithouse weather, didn't we?

The first few days were crap. We had planned to head into Mangatutu hotsprings but called it off with the weather warning.

We were just south of Wairoa, heading to Tiniroto, when it came through. There was 280mm of rain at Hackfalls Station over the couple of days.
