Played my first game in 8 months.
Tried out The Firmament/Obsidian. Either I have no idea how to play them, or they're bad. 10 point game ended round 5, I had 6 points. I did technically score 2 more points before Hacan made it to 10. But I was not in the running to win that round and 3 other players were.
Overall I had fun scoring other peoples secret objectives and collecting control tokens on plot cards. I flipped factions Round 4 with 4 plot cards filled out. I had all 5 but a player bailed end of round 3 and we just hyperlaned them out of existence.
The plot cards feel underwhelming and hard to plan for properly. I had seethed arborec, because of course. And siphoned Hacan. How am I supposed to pick an assail faction round 2? Enervate feels like you should pick the best player. And extract feels like it could be okay if you have a resource rich slice.

They seem like they should be better in longer games, to 12 or 14 points. 10 point games don't give them much time to set up their tools.
My table finds 12 point games play much better overall. They require better fundamental play and are less luck influenced than 10 pointers. And much better for faction balance, some of the slower starting factions have time to get rolling.
