He always was short-sighted about things like that. Like how he killed his subordinates when they made mistakes rather than letting them learn from them and become better minions.

Just taking out the competition. There can only be 2 sith lords at a time, and Vader couldn't kill palps before he heard the story of darth plagueis.

In people's like vadars eyes their death isn't a punishment for them but a warning for others. A single loss life probably is less valuable they keeping everyone else in line. Which one his mind is the out come he will get

Mace Windu: “You are on this council… but we do not grant you the rank of master.”

When your boss gives you a promotion, but no raise.

Anakin Skywalker did nothing wrong.

I'm still under the firm belief he used the force to corrupt and seduce Padme

I like to think she was already a deranged monarchist that was just super into the whole power dynamics she was literally fucking with.

There's some theories around the whole "Jedi must not love" rule that could have been fun.

Love binding people together such that one cannot survive without the other. Love from a Force user, even unwittingly, overpowering and enthralling a partner. Love making one selfish, and therefore prone to the corrupt tendencies of the Dark Side.

I think Palpatine very nakedly used Anakin's love as leverage for his fall. Even exploiting the bond to bring Anakin back from the brink of death at Padama's expense. Idk if I think Anakin did it. At least, not consciously. He's just too naive and easily manipulated.

He has a change of heart and expels Palpatine... then the Jedi council as well.

The galaxy is now run by the Skywalker council of younglings.
