The Australian flag features a large six-pointed Commonwealth Star

immediately next to an image clearly showing a seven-pointed star, and identifying it as the Commonwealth Star, which has had seven points for the last 117 years (after having six points for the first 8 years of its existence)

People get it wrong because they don't read the whole description. The star has six points for the six states, and a seventh for the territories
