It’s not Perchance, it’s Cloudflare. Perchance uses a Model with Cloudflare for Text Generation, but the Image Model it’s hosted locally where the website is. Cloudflare has been having issues with the AI Workers and Turnstile since July 4th. It’s an unfamiliar “break”, where no one knows where it is— everything is just going offline randomly. Even challenges.cloudflare.com was down for half the day and that alone verifies half the internet. I couldn’t even login to Perchance earlier because the challenges.cloudflare.com was offline so it refused to connect to Server.
Perchance has been working his ass off on new updates over the past few days (I’m a daily user who’s been with Perchance for years), this is NOT typical maintenance behavior and I figure Perchance is offline today because it’s out of their control OR possibly trying to design a workaround.
Rest assured, Perchance has vowed to run the Services indefinitely, the issue will be resolved soon enough— even if they need to take the Text Model on their Server. He’ll figure something out. He always does.

Definitely needs some appreciation. I just learned it’s one guy doing the whole thing. I cannot imagine how hard something like that would be but it can’t be easy. And I know some appreciation goes a long way. But glad to know it’s not the end and more of what’s going on. Hope they see some love come their way soon.
I think we should give him a hand. Since most of the users here have some programming knowledge, let's step up and help manage things as admins or staff so he can get some well-deserved rest.
I think there is nothing we could do to help in this case if its cloudflare thats acting up its on them not the person or people maintaining perchance. Want to bet that cloudflare has most its people non on weekend working on it.

I'm not surprised, as I've had so many issued with Cloudflare on and off for years. I didn't know Cloudflare was somehow involved here.

i know nothing about clouds, codes and all that. I'm literally just a user. When something on my Computer breaks, i start yelling at it. That usually doesn't solve a thing but i do it anyways because i know, yelling at it doesn't damage it. In the past i was beating on my Computer lol. If i can't figute the issue out, i just buy a new one. I didn't want to come across as demanding or offensive. Just wanted to get some information my stupid brain can process. The question of who is working on it was just to know who to look for, and send some "love" their way, via Kofi or whatever... just a token of appreciation. :)
I just took a dive onto this clam and can confirm this since Jun 16, 2026, 8:02 AM MDT, Cloudflare has been having problems with some ai models and unfortunately the text ai plug-in for perchance fell into it as one of them. They didn't seam to have posted any updates in the last two weeks, ive spent hours trying to track how long this is been going on but this is about as far as I can find problems digging on many forms
The “ai-text-plugin” generators seek to be completely non-functional at the moment; it must be on their end, because I tried refreshing the page, resetting my Internet, and even restarting my computer. Nothing works.
ChatGPT has had it with us and attacked. lol That's how it starts. Next up, Skynet. LoL 😂

i am experiencing the same thing for about three hours now just tried the vpn trick and even that does not do anything
I hope they're not changing the AI again, because it had become quite good since the last update...
It was! Then, for some reason, over the last 3 or 4 days, the quirks from the old model returned.
Seeing mentions of Cloudflare having issues. Any one more knowledgable than me in these kind of things that can explain why on earth it's just the text generation that is struggling while image generation and the rest of the Perchance website works fine?
(Edit: Just saw Logical AI's answer further down in the comments section about this. Apparently the image model is run locally while Cloudflare is used for the text. Well, shit.)
Any ideas what to do if it’s taking too long to continue a story?
16 hours now... I mean, an update from Perchance would be nice right about now. (not mad, just asking "what's going on?")

I'm guessing that it's being worked on. I didn't know one guy took care of it all, no idea who it even is either. But a shout-out to them for their hard work and the entertainment they provided me with. I tend to run scenarios through the ai adventure, helps my uncreative mind play DD with my younger brother. I know working on code especially with something as new as AI is cannot be easy or quick, but I have faith they'll figure it out before long. We just need some patience and I'm sure some appreciation wouldn't hurt to the one person trying to get us all going again. Thanks dev.
Care to share where you got the info that a mysterious Person is working on it? So in case it works, we can pester said person to get a kofi up or something? :D Also, has something like this happened before? Is there a solution/fix?

Everything seems down at the moment except the art generator. The auto-prompt is stalling, just as the character chat.

I'm trying to generate responses from the AI in ACC but nothing. Keeps infinitely loading and sometimes gives me an error.
I tried deleting the cookies and browser data after backing it up, didn't work. updated windows, didn't work. restarted the machine and browser multiple times, didn't work. cleared the entire browser cache, (insanely stupid idea) didn't work. So feel free to share what you have tried, what you think the reason is, or how to fix it.
Same here. I noticed the https://perchance.org/ai-text-to-image-generator works. But if you have it try to help you generate text, it spins out.
Any guess how long will be the outage?
If it really is a cloudflare issue, and it does seem to be considering the cloudflare status page has an uptade saying they were investigating the issue right around the time it stopped working for me, then we can't be sure. Cloudflare has been investigating the instability since July 4th apparently, let's just hope it won't take more than a couple of days
Edit: I got confused on the date. Last cloudflare update was the day before it stoppes working. But the point still stands

No, if it was down you wouldn't have been able to get to the make a post form
I know my client (Boost) is terrible at working out when a private message is read, it will even sometimes show me my own reply to a PM as an unread message
*PMs aren't really private here, due to federation. At least the admins of the participants' instances can see them, and some instance admins are not to be trusted. Use throwaway email to register your next account if you have unpopular opinions

Probably, are you using a client or the web? You might want to try logging in on your web browser, reading your notifications, and seeing if that clears the notification
will volunteer serving models by some users on their local pc, be better than the current cloudflare setup?
Well it dosent seem to be working ive been without function for anything using the ai text plugin for over 12 hours now is still not working at all. I am almost 100% sure its there end at this point.
