Supported devices are hard to come by even for the few of us that would run los.

But on that note I just did some searching and there seem to be some people selling used devices with lineage installed here. And even a company or two offering lineage and graphene installs on supported devices.

I think it requires volunteers to set up phones for uptake to increase. Maybe people would buy the phones if they were more easily available in their area, and pre-installed, ready to use. There's a niche market for simple phones that don't have big app stores and advertising in the operating system's UI.

If people want their spyware apps they could buy a budget android phone for $130 USD and keep it in the draw. I still think there are some people who want freedom from all the crap. I've never owned a good phone. The apps lag constantly and when I have a dozen apps installed it's like a mental illness for me personally and it ruined the battery life and CPU performance. Everything slows down. Great if people can buy a $850 USD phone with 6 years of updates but it's not for me.

Yeah that's true. I'd like to do it myself but it isn't just a money problem, it's also a problem of where do I store all this stuff if I buy multiple phones, when my desk and shelves are already full.

A big point of LineageOS is that you install it on an old, shitty thing you already own to make it non-obsolete again.

Ideally yes, I'm not suggesting a company that sells new phones. I mean refurbished old ones if they can be hacked and have the google erased from them. There are many old phones and also many clever people who can use work-arounds to reformat the phones, even if the manufacturers don't want people doing it.

Under 1000 in my country but never-the-less, I'm very interested that this data exists.

In Slovenia, there's less than 400 of us. This just confirms my assumption, that people here really like capitalism and not owning a product.
