Ticket companies basically have never had anything in particular against scalping except that they didn't profit from the sales. They implemented the system requiring transfer of tickets to happen on their systems, not to stop scalping, but to profit from it. They make more from the scalper sales than from the initial sale since they take a percentage of the sales price which of course scalping greatly inflates. So they have every incentive to encourage scalping, not discourage it.
