I had hundreds of BTC. I found out about BTC very early on and loved the idea of a digital, cryptographically secure currency. I remember talking about it with my best friend in his basement when I was 17 years old (early 2009, so really not long after it was released). I spent all of it at various times on various things. I ran the Minecraft server The Bit Mines which practically gave away BTC to players. I never thought of it as a vehicle for investment. Oops
I mined an unknown amount back then and then left it in whatever mining wallet I had at the time because it was worthless... I also try not to think about it too much.
Just think of the rules that made you cash out early. They're prolly the same rules not getting you rug-pulled off every new shitcoin. Sometimes there's a gem under the scam calls but its just not worthwhile to give them a try.

I mined half a BTC with university electricity. I used it to purchase the Pathfinder 1e rulebook.
I could've paid off my student loans with that half BTC. I try not to think about it too much.
I never used the rulebook.

I spent about 500 bucks on internet drugs through Bitcoin back around 2013.
Good times. Shoulda kept a bit aside though. Could afford more drugs now!
At least you were not mining multiple bitcoins to pay for the WoW monthly fee...

I had a few coins way back when. I also spent time on silk road. I didnt have those coins when things got expensive.
Just like that fude who purchased a pizza for several.
Ever notice how you only ever hear bad stories from anyone involved with Bitcoin?
That's by design.
Anybody who brags about their good story is asking to turn it into a bad story.
I didn't know they had check marks on social media back then
Edit: I looked it up. First on Twitter in June of 2009. I stand corrected.
Bro, old tweets dont look aged when you pull them up. They look the same as modern day.
Imagine if day in the zoo still had the old yt ui tho
