What a silly article. I have run half my life (and I am old), but I have never once heard that running alone is a red flag.

I've never heard anyone say that running alone is a red flag. Do people really say that? Why?

The running industry really really wants it to be a social activity, because then it's an avenue to sell more stuff.

They are investing heavily in run clubs and influencers to try to make it a more social activity. If you run with people, you'll probably do it more often, which is good, but you'll also spend more on races, burn through more shoes, and probably spend more money on peripheral gear.

Gee, I guess all of the runners I see at the park, all by themselves, are all covered in red flags
