Been thinking about the whole Albo FMK situation. Kylie is a 50 year old woman, it would be weirder if he picked anyone younger. And it's quite refreshing knowing he likes a woman closer to his age given the tastes of other world leaders

Most of the heat is coming from the right wing. Who want to abolish childcare, equal pay between genders, abortion rights and other women's health services and call representation in media woke, etc. They are not champions for women, they just want ammo. It's putrid.

8

Oh yeah, I know most of the outrage over this is manufactured. It would be ironic the people most upset by it are those who hate women the most, if it wasn't such a consistent pattern

Yeah not a big deal to me. But he probably shouldnt have taken the influencers bait, and said heโ€™s not going to pick, he admires the artists for their talents but thatโ€™s all.

6

He initially tried to evade but she pressed - though yes, your response is a great one. I guess that's what you get for having an influencer/comedian interview the Prime Minister, it was always going to be a little uncouth.

I refuse to watch it because I don't consume that kind of slop anyway, but did she give him 3 options? Usually when you do FMK you pick 3 people and have to choose a role for each. From the little I've read she just asked FMK of anyone with no qualifiers. That's being a bad interviewer if you ask me

Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman, or Rhonda Burchmore were his options.

3

What boring options. It's essentially the same woman 3 times over. It's meant to be a spectrum of people with a theme

Iโ€™d never heard of her before. Albo (or his media team) probably thought this would be an opportunity to make him more relatable to a certain demographic. No oneโ€™s forcing him to pick an answer, he probably was just thinking he should appear to have โ€˜funโ€™ to appeal to the demographic and it didnโ€™t work out for him.

2

The only think I know her from is Instagram reels about "what your drink order says about you" kind of crap, but dressed in a Bush Barbie kind of character.

Yeah it's a bit of a nothing burger. He was put on the spot and he answered. No big deal. BTW Kylie is closer to 60 than 50. (58).

I remembered hearing stuff a while ago about her hitting 50. I knew it wasn't recent but I hadn't heard any updates since, and she still looks amazing now anyway

You're officially old Tommo when you can't recall when but you know it wasn't that long ago but it really was.

Feeling the cold this morning, so looking at hotels in warmer climates. Probably should do some work, but my Do Whatever I Want at work time is coming to an end soon so I'm definitely taking advantage of it.

6

If this topic is up already it must be my bed time, Have a great day.

It will never cease to amaze me that the strays will turn their noses up at wet food they've eaten too many times in a row.

I mean guys. Help me out here lol

my boys were like that , and rotund

I fed them less and the complaints stopped

They are also less rotund and more active now

First Aid training tomorrow at my job provider. Had to do one of those Literacy and Numeracy tests tonight on Canvas, and the questions were so damn simple I had to stop second guessing myself.

Let me smash the ribs of the manikin and give them the kiss of life already.

I did learn that there is in fact a difference between a "mannequin" (fashion) and a "manikin" (anatomically correct) though, so there's that.

Ikr lol I thought they made a typo ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you :3 it'll be good to have the qualification again

Big Telstra outage this morning, looks like phones are coming back now. Wonder if it was hacking or the work experience kid pressing wrong button.

Lovely walking weather. Nice and sunny but not hot. I did have to divert at one point because the footpath that was still in shade had a layer of ice over it.

trying to search the internet nowadays fills me with a rage I have not felt since I discovered dogpile.

Except then it was too much info, not fucking adspam

I'm just tired of LLMs being shoved in my face. I hate tech bros so damn much, I want to drown them in a pile of cow dung. The amount of animal pictures that are just straight up generated shite is foul.

5

The LLM rubbish is just so tedious, it all sounds the same. Even if the content is useful the delivery just becomes mind-numbing when you encounter the same tone and pacing everywhere.

It frustrates me that it's also individual people putting their own writing through AI to rewrite it in the same bland tone. It's getting to the point I'm getting disgust/anger reactions just to seeing the phrase "I'm curious". It's the sort of loathing previously reserved for tv laugh tracks, but you can't avoid it by just turning off the tv because it is everywhere.

I spent the drive home raging because someone pointing out the amount of AI "music" flooding YT Music and yup, sure enough, my Supermix is just a flood of shit right now. It's so depressing!!

Believe me, I feel you about Apple. But it's honestly great. It's what Spotify used to be before starting sucking the slop dick.

unless I go direct to a website I know or a gov site, or wiki it's become completely useless

it's really sad

2

The part that really enrages me is that i'm often explicitly looking for things to buy. Very specific parts. SEO is failing at even showing me shit i literally want to spend money on. I wish to beat someone with a chair.

Dogpile and startpage are great for technical data, fic and projects, but not so much for goods. DDG has been completely munged by the engines it feeds off and google doesnt show you what you search for, it shows you what it thinks is the closest match in its advertising network. And it is wrong as hell. Even fucking ebay's exclusion booleans are broken now

It's oddly satisfying logging into your bank account on a linux computer using firefox and having the notification say "Someone has tried to login to your account on Chrome on Windows 10. Was this you?"

Sure it was. At least it means the spoofing extensions are working

I was expecting a cloudy day today, but it is all beautiful sunshine yet again. Tomorrow is expected to be the same - I'm pretty happy I have the day off, then I'm back to work on Saturday when rain is expected again.
