The USSR wasnt immune to making blunders. I can think of a half dozen major ones off the top of my head, mainly in relation to West Asia.
I wasnt aware the USSR did a similar program as well.
However the USSR doesnt exist anymore while the US is still carrying out its 250 year legacy of genocide and superexploitation. Hence my memes are focused on the monstrous enemy.

It was called operation Osoaviakhim and was exactly the same as the USA, the UK and a bit France did.
