Politics of Star Wars Podcast (youtube link)

I found this super interesting, they've covered the prequel trilogy so far and there's some things in it i would not have been able to pick up on my own.

https://pipedapi.kavin.rocks/watch?v=p1yoCJS3_Q0 piped link, if i did it right.

They plan to cover various star wars serieses like Maul Shadow Lord after doing the OT movies. One presenter is a lecturer on politics, not sure the other guy's qualifications but he also has great insights.

It also raises questions for me about the prequel trilogy. One on my mind at the moment is - why did the seperatists and republic actually go to war? The truest answer of course is that Palpatine wanted it, and manipulated eventd to make it look like both sides were starting on one another, but i wonder why any star system would join up an alliance lead by corporations who say "oh yeah we're building a robot army and we want to f the republic's ship up. Nope we're not going to peacefully secede. That's for losers."

I don't have any particular breathtaking insights here, but I once saw a script for this movie that had been run through several translators and back into English, and the line became "I will fuck it into law". I still think about it sometimes
