For anyone not familiar with Lenin, Lenin isn't arguing against socialist democracy, but against reformism as a strategy for implementing socialism. This is why the difference between social democrats and democratic socialists is that social democrats do not intend on changing the mode of production, in practice democratic socialists cannot actually change the mode of production and so function the same as social democrats.
