"What I fear is that the liberators emerge as elitists who drive around in Mercedes Benzes and use the resources of this country to live in palaces and to gather riches." - Chris Hani
Chris Hani was the man who negotiated the surrender of the Mkatashinga rebels during the mid-80s. The Mkatashinga rebellion was launched by MK (Umkhonto we Sizwe, the ANC's armed wing) volunteers, in part, due to revelations about the luxury lifestyles of ANC and MK bigwigs while rank-and-file MK volunteers was starving in training camps under the tortuous boots of Soviet "trainers" (if you know anything about the Soviet army, you know what that means).
After they surrendered on promises of negotiations offered by Hani, the ANC launched a brutal crackdown on it's camps, and detained a large but unknown number of MK volunteers in SACP (South African Communist Party) administered prison camps which became notorious as venues of torture and summary executions. One can be forgiven for wondering whether the ANC/SACP killed more of it's own personnel than those of it's enemy.
Some say Hani was an innocent victim in all of this, who offered negotiations in good faith - others say he played an active part in the crackdown. Difficult to say which is which.
One thing remains true, though - tankies and liberals make one hell of an evil combo.

Which is why hierarchy must be dismantled or else those in charge will ensure they stay in charge.
