Funny that I'm watching light winds on Lake Superior from the cockpit of my moored boat in great, 10 knot breeze. But, ya gotta grill dinner sometime, and I did sail earlier.

Lake Mendota, down in Madison. It's a trailer boat (barely!), and I'm pondering trucking it to the Apostles this year. I haven't been since 2019, bar an afternoon Bayfield to La Pointe outing last year on my small daysailer.

Nice! I'm anchored at La Pointe, watched the fireworks here last night. Highly recommended if you're interested in fireworks, they play music throughout the anchorage on some insane sound system and you can hear over the booms!

Oh, man. That sweet spot between getting stuck and "let's see what this boat can really take"

Upvoting for Yacht Rock.

All I know is the boat can take a whole lot more than I can!

I've got a big party box speaker on the boat, I might be the loudest sailing yacht on the lake.

May it ever be so!

That's such a good feeling, though, to be out in conditions over your head and the boat responding like, relax buddy, I've done this before.
