Both my kids are home this weekend so going all out, but similar deal
yesterday planned to smoke a pork shoulder but both kids were out
this morning I woke them up trying to make breakfast for when they got up - young adults sleep in forever
today one kid was out so still no pork shoulder but I have deer burgers with bacon jam and Mac-n-cheese. It’s more challenging to hold temperature on the grill vs the smoker but I nailed the Mac and cheese
So yeah, sitting here making food all day, trying to time it for just when they get home. Turns out the ex-in-laws were waiting for that pork shoulder as well, oh well.
The one thing good coming out of divorce is getting to cook, trying all sorts of new foods! I am really loving this. If I ever get married again, there will be conditions: she has to let me cook
